The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo *book review/spoilers/dnf’d

Trigger warning: abusive parent,

There is two characters that is followed in this book. And it follows Asian superstitions.

Ren is a young teen who has made a promise to his mentor/ father figure, whom is on his death bed, too find a missing part of a finger so he can bury it with said mentor. Within 40 something days of his death so his soul can rest.

Paths will somehow cross with Jin who is trying to pay off her mothers gambling debt with her regular job as well as a side job (which is risque).

When all of a sudden she ends up with small glass vile that contains, a finger.

They each have a path to take that has to do with the finger.

There is a believed to be a man eating tiger that has started killing people.

I think this book moved too slow for me. I was interested in the characters and the story, and maybe I didn’t give it enough time, but I struggled to stay focused on reading it.

I would like to give this another go sometime, but I’m going to let this go for a little bit. I believe I dnfed it at 100 pages.

The cover is absolutely amazing though..

Happy reading
