Swing it, Sunny by Jennifer L. Holm * Book Review

A comic that takes place in the 70s. The young teen goes through the motions of her brother being sent off to a school for troubled young men. With no bug details or backstory it is mentioned briefly that he is struggling with drugs and the facility is to help with that.

It mentions shows that were popular at the time like Gilligan’s Island, The Brady Bunch and General Hospital. I like how some of the characters help with advice to cope with what is going on. Being supportive and understanding as a family.

I don’t know of this book has any truth to the authors story or if its all made up. I thought it was well written and thought out.

3.5/5 stars.

Happy Reading
